WEBINAR ON CAMERA TRAPS AND THEIR USE IN

LARGE CARNIVORE CONSERVATION

Indirect clues like tracks, scats, or scrapes that show the presence of animals were considered worthy pieces of evidence that helped in the basic studies of animals. Although such evidence can be helpful for fundamental research, deploying camera traps offers more trustworthy proof of animal presence and, with the right study design and analysis, offers a variety of options to investigate carnivore ecology.

For our young wildlife enthusiasts who have a greater curiosity to know about Camera traps, The Nature's Eye welcomes all of you to the interesting session on "CAMERA TRAPS AND THEIR USE IN LARGE CARNIVORE CONSERVATION."

About the speaker:

Mr. Vivek Tumsare is a wildlife biologist from the Wildlife Conservation Trust. He holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Science from Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune. After working extensively on monitoring large carnivores through camera-trapping, his passion further led him to acquire a Postgraduate Diploma in International Wildlife Conservation Practice from Wild CRU, Oxford University, UK.

At Wildlife Conservation Trust, Vivek currently manages the camera trapping exercise for large carnivores in the Central Indian Landscape. As part of WCT’s capacity-building drives, he also trains the frontline forest staff in wildlife population estimation techniques.
