Dr. Sharad Suresh Kambale is a distinguished botanist, researcher, and educator specializing in Angiosperm Taxonomy, Nomenclature, and Biodiversity Conservation. With a remarkable academic and research background, he has significantly contributed to plant taxonomy by describing 23 new plant taxa to science. Currently, he is serving as the Assistant Professor & Head of the Department of Botany at Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj’s Arts, Commerce & Science College, Nashik. He has an extensive research background, including a Ph.D. in Angiosperm Taxonomy and a UGC-Dr. D. S. Kothari Post-Doctoral Fellowship, along with 14 years of teaching experience. His significant research has led to over 74 published scientific papers in national and international journals. Along with this, he has served as a reviewer for 14 scientific journals. Dr. Sharad Kambale has an expertise in research methodology, scientific writing and taxonomy makes him an ideal resource person for this course. His experience as a research guide and mentor has helped numerous students excel in their academic pursuits. Through this course, he will share his insights into structuring high-quality research papers, understanding journal publication standards and avoiding common mistakes and setbacks in academic writing. 1. Choosing a research topic and formulating research questions.

2. Introduction to academic sources and library resources.

3. Key concepts: scholarly vs. non-scholarly sources, primary vs. secondary sources.

B. Conducting Research and Literature Review

1. Developing a research strategy and using academic databases.

2. Writing a literature review: Synthesizing sources, identifying gaps.
