About the Teacher

Ms. Sandra Pereira is a passionate ornithologist, wildlife educator, and conservation biologist with extensive experience in bird ecology, behavioural studies, and wildlife education.
She holds a strong academic background in Biodiversity and Wildlife Conservation, including an M.Sc. in Wildlife Management, along with years of hands-on field experience observing and documenting India’s rich avifaunal diversity. She has conducted numerous bird surveys, habitat studies, and educational workshops focusing on bird identification, ecological importance, and conservation ethics.
Currently, she works as a Junior Associate (Social Media) at Roundglass Sustain. She is also the co-founder of People of the Forest.
Previously, she has worked as a Senior Program Coordinator at Green Yatra Trust and as a Program Officer and Coordinator at GreenLine, Mumbai. She is actively involved in field-based training programs that promote sustainable birdwatching practices and environmental awareness.
Under her guidance, participants will learn not only the science of bird identification but also the ethics, skills, and curiosity essential for successful birding. We are honored to have Ms. Sandra leading this course and inspiring a new generation of learners to understand and protect India’s hidden bird diversity.
