Entomology: Diversity, Evolution and Identification-Certification Course

Insects are one of the most diverse and ecologically important groups of organisms on Earth, playing vital roles in ecosystems as pollinators, decomposers, predators, herbivores, and indicators of environmental change. Understanding their diversity, morphology, classification, evolution, and identification is essential for students and professionals working in ecology, wildlife biology, agriculture, and environmental science.

This 3-day online course on Entomology provides a beginner-friendly introduction to the fascinating world of insects, covering their external and internal morphology, adaptations, life cycles, evolutionary history, diversity, and classification. Participants will explore major insect orders and families, learn the fundamentals of insect identification, and gain an introduction to the use of taxonomic keys.

The course combines theoretical concepts with practical identification approaches, helping participants develop a strong foundation for studying insects in ecological and field-based research.
