Dr. Abhijeet Bayani is a passionate wildlife biologist, ornithologist, and biodiversity educator with extensive expertise in avian ecology, behavioural studies, and field-based research methodologies. He holds a master’s degree in Avian Biology. Also, he has completed his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune, Maharashtra
Dr. Bayani has worked with leading conservation organizations such as the Wildlife Conservation Trust and the Wildlife Trust of India, contributing to large-scale ecological studies, wildlife monitoring, and human-wildlife conflict mitigation across Central India. He has also served as an Instructor/ lecturer at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, where he taught undergraduate courses in ecology, biostatistics, microbiology, and animal physiology, while mentoring several student-led research projects
He has conducted numerous bird surveys, biodiversity assessments, and field training programs across India and has been actively involved in citizen science initiatives, including contributions to platforms such as Birds of India and Biodiversity Atlas India. He has several research publications under his name.
